FLOORING SERVICES

What really makes the difference between a flooring project working and not working, is thinking about the whole space. How’s it all going to flow?

How flooring is going to function is super important. There might be a floor that looks great, but if it doesn’t function well for the way your family lives, you may not like it. For example I had a client that really wanted carpet in her hallway, but that would cause a problem for their lifestyle. She really cared about the longevity of the carpet. Carpet in hallways tend to get really worn and need to be replaced faster. So it’s important to know how the space is used, and make choices that are going to give you longevity, comfort, and look great!

A lot of people want to do a lot of different things in different rooms and it feels disjointed at the end of the project. I work with clients to provide direction and help them make good choices about function, aesthetics, and the quality of the materials.

Flooring Materials Matter

For example, do you have pets that can scratch wood floors or chew up carpet. Or do you have a pool, and do you need to think about how water will impact the floor? In California a lot of people have swimming pools. A lot of people have that indoor, outdoor lifestyle. You just want to make sure that you’re not going to invest thousands of dollars on a beautiful wood floor, then have a pool party and ruin your floors.

There are so many wonderful materials out there today that look natural but are more durable and livable. We help people pick those materials and avoid many mistakes that are frustrating and costly.

Good Flooring Installation Also Matters

It’s also important to have a good contractor who understands the types of material that they’re working with. There are a lot of materials that look good out there, but it’s hard to tell which is really good quality and whether someone is really installing it right. Unless you do tons of research, which a lot of people don’t have time for, you’re often going to get an inferior product that doesn’t really look the way you want it to look. You want an installer that provides high levels of customer service and comes back if you ever run into an issue.

Sometimes things happen, and go wrong. You need to be able to file a claim, and get in touch with somebody who’s going to stand behind their work, even if it’s five years from now.

It’s important to me to make clients happy and to do the work right.
